San Carlos Animal Hospital

My puppy was hit by a car on a Friday afternoon and was in very bad shape. Our neighbor gave us the card to San Carlos Veterinary Hospital and we immediately took her there, as it was the closest place to our house. The staff was ready for us when we got there and ran out to the car to take her in as quickly as possible. Dr. Persky was able to stabilize her when she was in shock and her heart was working too hard to keep her alive (even though he wasn't sure she would make it). They stabilized her and started a fluid treatment so that we could take her to an overnight emergency care center where she stayed through the night and most of saturday,



Dr. Persky set us up for surgery the day of the accident and was able to get her in there the following monday, as soon as he knew it was safe for her to have surgery. Her back right femur was broken into three pieces and she had a jagged fracture all the way down to the joint...she couldn't walk or do anything by herself. Now, not even a month later, my puppy is running, jumping and playing like she used to. The x-rays show her bone is almost completely healed again and the metal plate holding her broken bone together did its job. We know veterinary care is expensive, but Dr. Persky was able to give us an estimate for the surgery much lower than the emergency hospital did. He also kept his word and didn't go over his said estimate. They were also able to set us a up with the CareCredit program and we now have a year to pay it off interest-free.



We are very happy with the staff and vets at San Carlos Veterinary Hospital and would recommend them to anyone.
