Avoid this company. I worked for this company and the first thing I noticed on my first day of work it that their trucks and trailers have not been maintained for years. In some cases they were literally falling apart. One time I simply closed the door and the side view mirror broke and fell out.
I have been driving over the road long before this company and I have never seen such disgraceful trucks and trailers being used in all my time before. I would always do pre and post trip daily inspections and report what I find to the company. When the Department of Transportation began getting on this company they were told these trucks were not safe to be on the road. The company finally decided to fix the problems.
One day I can into work and was handed a letter that came from Jim Johnson. He stated in the letter that the cost of fixing their equipment was too much for them and they cannot afford to fix their equipment. This was their reason for not paying their employees wages due. It was because of this very bad business decision that many people just walked out that day.
Maintaining business equipment is part of the cost of being in business. If they cannot afford to be in business then the business needs to close. The owners, like Jim Johnson, should go and flip burgers at McDonald’s.
The employees could not be happy working at this company with terrible business decisions like this.
