Chicago’s oldest Lutheran church celebrating 175 years of ministry
Join us for:
Divine Worship Service on Palm Sunday, March 24 at 9:30 a.m. in person or virtually with Pastor Jeff Leininger
with Procession of Palms and Reading of the Passion according to St. Mark
Mid-week Lenten Services Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
Lenten soup supper at 5:45 p.m. each Wednesday before Lenten service
For the entire schedule of Holy Week Services, see below.
We welcome all who are visiting the area, who have just moved to Chicago or live in the area.
This Lenten season Pastor Leininger is excited to announce a sermon series entitled “Objects of the Passion” which makes use of specific objects and places of the Passion narrative. We’ll hear about the items our Lord physically encountered, as recorded in Scripture. These will become windows into the full, physical reality of Christ’s suffering for us while, hopefully, bringing us to a fuller understand of his great love for us. We’ll examine the objects of the Passion, while also being reminded that each of us are also objects of his passion—recipients of his saving work.
