O’ahu

East meets West at “The Gathering Place.” Oahu is the third largest Hawaiian island and the capitol of Hawaii. About two-thirds of Hawaii’s diverse population call Oahu home, creating a multicultural tapestry rooted in the values and traditions of the Native Hawaiian people. On Oahu you can experience metropolitan amenities in Honolulu and famous Waikiki Beach, and explore the timeless history of Pearl Harbor’s memorials and the architecture of Iolani Palace.

A surfer and traveler’s paradise, Oahu is known for epic waves and the best nightlife of all the islands. In Honolulu, sample craft breweries and fine dining by night, and world-class shopping and cultural events by day. Then after a breathtaking hike atop Leahi (Diamond Head), head to the North Shore to explore historic Haleiwa Town, pineapple fields, waterfalls and snorkeling. After all that adventure, don’t forget to unwind on the sands of the island’s beautiful beaches! Bringing together culture, luxury, and scenic beauty, Oahu definitely earns its nickname of “The Gathering Place.”

Hawai’i

Volcanoes and history come alive on the “Big Island.” From the active volcanoes to the snow-capped heights of Maunakea; from rainforests at Hamakua Coast to jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach, Hawaii Island presents nature’s beauty and force on a dramatic scale.

To avoid confusion with the name of the state, the Island of Hawaii is often called the “Big Island,” and it is well-named! Nearly twice as big as all other Hawaiian Islands combined, its size and scope creates a microcosm of environments and activities, including lava viewing, stargazing, diving and snorkeling, and hiking in Volcano National Park. And don’t forget the white, green, and black sand beaches!

In addition to the natural variety, you’ll also find extravagant resorts, incredible golf courses, charming local towns and sacred Hawaiian historical sites, including the birthplace of King Kamehameha I and Hawaii’s first missionary church in Historic Kailua Village (Kailua-Kona). With all that Hawaii Island has offer, you’ll want to come back again and again.

Maui

Discover world-famous beaches and more on the “Best Island.” It won’t take you long to discover why Maui has been voted “Best Island” by readers of Conde Nast Traveler for over twenty years. Maybe you’ll fall in love with the unforgettable beaches at Kaanapali and Makena, or the splendor and mana (power) of Haleakala National Park. Perhaps the championship golf courses and the arts and culture of Kahului and Upcountry Maui will steal your heart. If not, the incredible food, culture, and island adventures certainly will.

On Maui, you can see migrating humpback whales and sunset luaus, take mermaid swim lessons, and explore the scenic road to Hana. You can indulge in exotic farm-to-table dining or grab a “plate lunch” and a shave ice like a local. Whatever you choose, your vacation on the “Valley Isle” is sure to be unforgettable. Maui earns the name best island by delivering the full Hawaiian experience to people of all ages.

Kaua’i

Explore scenic splendor and the great outdoors on the “Garden Isle.” The oldest and northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain, Kauai is a portrait of time and nature’s elements. Known as the “Garden Isle,” on Kauai, you will find lush green valleys at the feet of steep mountains, tropical rainforests fed by beautiful rivers, and dramatic waterfalls spilling over jagged cliffs. It’s also the least developed island—many areas are only accessible by sea, air or foot.

Kauai is Hawaii’s fourth largest island and in addition to its dramatic beauty, this island is known for a wide variety of outdoor activities. You can kayak or paddleboard the Wailua River or snorkel on Poipu Beach or below the soaring cliffs of the Napali Coast. You can hike miles of trails of Kokee State Park or explore the Waimea Canyon area—Hawaii’s own Grand Canyon. Even go ziplining or tour the island by helicopter! Or if you prefer your adventures closer to earth, you can explore some of Kauai’s 60 beaches—from family friendly tide pools to tranquil white sand hidden gems. More than just an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, Kauai is also beloved for the rich culture found in its small towns and along its one-lane bridges. Make your escape to Kauai and discover all the splendor and allure that the Garden Isle has to offer.

Lana’i

Find peace, tranquility and a true getaway on Lanai. Away from the crowds and hustle of everyday life, Lanai is a destination of untouched tranquility—a place for rest, relaxation, and exploration. Though it’s less than ten miles from Maui, with less than 30 miles of paved road and not a single stop light, Lanai, Hawaii’s smallest inhabited island, can seem like a different world.

Lanai is best known for its two exquisite Four Seasons resorts and championship-level golf courses at The Challenge at Manele and The Experience at Koele. But luxury Lanai isn’t just for golfers!—wellness enthusiasts will find world-class amenities and foodies can enjoy peerless dining options at nearly a dozen hotel eateries.

And if your idea of a rejuvenating getaway involves seclusion and natural beauty, Hawaii’s “most enticing island” has plenty to offer. Keep your eyes open for dolphins at Hulopoe Bay, or go whale watching. You can explore the back-roads and red spires of Keahiakawelo (Garden of the Gods) by 4-wheel, or see the pine tree-lined trails by horseback. You can hike up to Sweetheart Rock or take a guided tour of the island petroglyphs. While Lanai’s romantic elegance and peaceful seclusion aren’t for every traveler, that is exactly why some consider this island getaway to be a true paradise.
