bikeclubokc pays our deepest respects to those who lost their lives at the okcnm.

Each year, our young students learn about the domestic terrorism that shook our home, Oklahoma City.

Ranger Larry took our students on a tour, using all 5 senses.
We listened to the wind and ...the water.
We touched the grass.
We saw the hand prints that left our mark forever on these hallowed grounds.
He encouraged a minute of play, which made everyone smile and feel good. And he reflected on the very importance of HOPE! This was part of the design of the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

While at the “Survivor Tree” he explained how resilient this tree was, and the base/ trunk still bares the scars of the fireball that burned the trunk.

We are grateful for this opportunity each year. We must never forget. There is always hope!

Hands down, the okcnm is the most rewarding place that Elizabeth and her team have had the honor of planting since 2017. The peaceful Field of Empty Chairs and Reflecting Pool offer comfort and hope to all who visit. Speaking of visitors, their ...annual Memorial Marathon attracts 25,000 runners each year. The marathon will be held on 4/28/2024. It’s not too late to start training and join in the fun! 🏃🏼‍♀️

🪴The planters at the Memorial get all day shade except for the very late afternoon intense western sun.☀️Over the years we have used many different “thrillers” in the planters. These past few years we have determined that using a boxwood as the “thriller” in the pots and changing out the surrounding flowers on a seasonal basis is the way to go. Boxwoods are such sturdy guys that withstand windy, shady and sunny conditions.👌You just can’t beat a classic boxwood! 🌳

Memorial 5K today 🏃🏻‍♀️

It has officially been 11 years since my very first running event, which was this one in 2012. I can’t believe all that time has gone by.

I did much better than I expected today. I negative split every mile, crossed the finish at a sub ...9:00/mi pace, never had to talk, and wasn’t totally spend after the finish. Definitely proud considering my lack of consistency with my current work load.

When I was on my way to the start corral this morning jamming to the music in my headphones, I noticed people stopping in their tracks. I realized the national anthem was being sung then I realized I was right in front of the Survivor Tree at the National Memorial and Museum and it brought tears to my eyes. It’s easy to get caught up in life and running and thinking this is “just” another event. But there is a reason we continue to come back year after year and why this event will always hold a special place in my heart 💜

I’m ready for 13.1 in the morning.

More than a few months ago, my friend Adam Chamberlain and I went to shoot at the OKC Memorial. I originally didn't think I got any decent shots and just didn't even look at the photos after the shoot. With yesterday being the 28th anniversary, I wanted to see if I could edit some of ...those shots. Let this memorial stand as a testament to the strength of Oklahoman's and to remember that the evil in this world shall not triumph over light. #oklahomanationalmemorial #oklahoma #weremember #okc

We come here to remember

By the numbers:
4/19/1995
168 lives lost
800+ injured
9:02 a.m.

By the heart:
I remember that morning. I remember feeling the ground move. I remember the shock as reports came in that the Murrah Federal Building had ...been bombed. I remember the despair as nearly everyone in this city was touched by this tragedy.

Today, we have a beautiful memorial in Downtown OKC that people from all over come to visit. Today, I had difficult conversations with young students who are blissfully unaware that this tragedy happened just a few miles away from our school. Today, we remember.

today, we remember the 168 killed and lives changed forever in the oklahoma city bombing 28 years ago. #WeRemember #NeverForget #OKC

Thank you to all the students, faculty, and staff who joined us today for our flower tribute okcnm to honor those lost and those who courageously stepped up in the face of evil 28 years ago.

The Murrah Student Association is the active arm of the Judge Alfred P. Murrah center for Homeland ...Security and Policy, so our Executive Board felt it was important to pay tribute on this day. MSA purchased 200 flowers for OCU Law students, faculty, and staff to place at the 168 chairs. Our hope is that this will instill a new tradition for years to come at oculaw
