For those who are nervous about traveling in these uncertain times, rest assured. As an exterior corridor property, all doors lead directly outside. This also means that each room has its own air conditioning unit (no central heat & air), and you will have minimal (if any) contact with other guests. All rooms are ventilated between customers. We also implemented (and are still) utilizing a curbside check-in to eliminate any enclosed-space interactions. You can view our safety protocols by clicking below.
Thunderbird Motor
Lodge is unique in that we cater to daily travelers and extended stays. We understand that people have different needs when traveling and are able to accommodate this with a variety of packages. Daily rates are available for the quick-overnight stays in the motel units, while both daily and weekly rates are offered in the kitchen studios.
We are currently making upgrades to the property. If you want a room with a flat screen tv, be sure to request a kitchen studio. The standard motel units still have the "old school" picture tube tv's.
Located directly east of I-35 between Highway 9E and Lindsey Street, this convenient location is minutes from the University of Oklahoma, the National Weather Center, casinos including Riverwind, local mom and pop restaurants & bars, shopping, hospitals, golf courses, and grocery stores. During your stay, explore the many local activities that Norman, OK has to offer!

We love what we do and it shows. We've had the honor of serving the Norman community for 34 years, and we dedicate our utmost energy to making sure each guest enjoys their stay. As a motor lodge, there is no need to drag your suitcase through long hallways. Simply pull up to your room, park, unload and enjoy your time in the Norman community! Please realize that we are a two-story motel (motorlodge). Breakfast is not offered
and
we do not have a pool.
The majority of the single queen beds are located on the second floor (accessible by stairwell only), while rooms with two queen beds are on the ground floor. There is no elevator.
Until further notice, we will no longer offer daily housekeeping, but you will be provided with ample amenities for the duration of your stay. The majority of our property is smoke-free, with the exception of a few designated smoking rooms. If you need to "light up," be sure to request a smoking room to avoid hefty smoking fees.
