Panepinto Podiatry offers family foot and ankle care. Our practice is a full-service general and surgical foot care practice. Dr. Panepinto has been in practice for over 22 years and performs surgical procedures weekly that range from simple to reconstructive foot surgery, including cosmetic foot surgery. He will use this experience to customize care for each individual patient. BLEEDING AMOUNT: Bleeding following your surgery may show through the dressing. This is no cause for alarm. If excessive bleeding occurs on the day of your minor surgery continue to elevate and apply compression to the area to help stop the bleeding. If the baggage becomes soaked with blood you may remove the bandage and begin your soaking instructions or replace soaked bandage with a dry compressive gauze and bandage until bleeding is controlled at the site of surgery. If uncontrolled bleeding occurs contact the office or report to the emergency room.

Botox can be injected into the bottom of the feet to reduce and stop excessive sweating for up to 4-6 months. Sometimes repetitive treatments can extend the results up to 8 months.

THE FUNGUS causing onychomycosis can be picked up anywhere you travel with bare feet and thrives in moist and wet environments. The fungus is deep in the nail matrix and nail bed making it difficult and in most cases impossible to treat with topical medications.

An interview with Dr. Cory Hebert from WDSU reviewed a common heel pain condition called plantar fasciitis. Also, on WDSU interview was done on the relationship of common foot and ankle injuries associated with excersize.
Bunions Problems
Dr. Panepinto then worked in a private medical practice in Newark, Deleware for 2 years before returning home to New Orleans, La. where he was hired as a Surgical Podiatrist at Ochsner Hospital System in 2003. He continued to develop his surgical skills and specializes in reconstruction of forefoot deformities such as bunions, hammertoes, arthritic toe joint replacements, minimal incision heel pain / plantar fasciitis procedures and cosmetic surgical options may be available for certain foot conditions. Eventually, Dr. Panepinto accepted the position as Podiatric Surgical Residency Director of the Ochsner Hospital until his resignation to move into private practice where he can closer serve the community outside of the large hospital clinic setting.

Studies show combining topical and oral medications with laser therapy greatly improve the treatment success rate. Results vary according to severity of fungal infection into the nail bed tissues. Severe and long standing toenail fungus can cause permanent toenail damage.
