These guys did a great job!
I had a knocking sound coming from my engine, so I called around to get a quote. These guy beat the others hands down. When I brought my car in I was told what it could possibly be, but that they had to open it up to know for sure.
I was given a tour of the facility and explained what they were going to do. I was given a quote and told that there could be additional work that needed to be done.
They explained the contract very clearly before I signed.
Very impressed. Definitley coming back if I need more work done!

I like Gulftech they explained every thing to me up front gave me a good price and my engine runs like new in my opinion they did a good job for me

Had my Chevy rebuilt here they towed my truck for free and gave my a good price it's been 1 month and my truck is still running good I will recommend them in the future

I AM EDITING THIS REVIEW 1-13-16. THIS COMPANY HAS FIRED ALL EMPLOYEES AND REPLACED THEM. THE NEW MANAGER IS MIKE. HE IS DOING A MUCH BETTER JOB. I HAVE BEEN TEST DRIVING MY CAR FOR THE PAST 5 MONTHS AND IT SEEMS OK. THEY FIXED A COOLANT LEAK FROM ONE OF THE HOSES THAT WAS NOT CLAMPED TIGHT ENOUGH.

Stay away from this company. Check ConsumerAffairs.com and ripoffreport.com, also Google reviews and yellowpages.com under Gulftech Engines & Transmissions. Company names changes are indication of bad business. Also check the BBB complaints as there are many and they were stripped of their BBB title due to bad business. Good companies do not get stripped of BBB titles they once had. The other excellent reviews do not mean company does good business. I am stuck with them now and am going to take them to court due to 2x their work has failed (Oct 2014, Aug 2015). They have BBB complaints and were stripped of the BBB title. They do not conduct business honestly and their work is shotty & do not honor their warranty. If you decide to use them, dont be fooled by a low quote as they are surely to up it significantly and visit the shop and take pictures. Update: Aug 2015 - engine still is using water in radiator. Company refused to give me an invoice for the work (back in Oct 2014) they did and it is because they did not do the work they said they did (remill the heads from the first time their work failed).

These people are a total rip off they are all criminals. We paid thousands of dollars for nothing our vehicle would not run one day and the police have been at this location on many occasions

They are total crooks they will eventually be stopped for ripping people off

I WOULD NOT RRECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. I was quoted one price put half the money down then told I needed 3xs as much. Refused their services. Took forever to bring my car back then refund me 10% of my down payment. Still looking for my refund they claimed would be mailed to me. Over a month ago. Taking them to small claims court.

My experience with this company is just as bad as everyone else. Thy picked my tuck up February 2 2015, I wanted a rebuilt engine. They old me it would take them 2 weeks, or about 10 business days. It was ready in the middle of March or so that's what they told me. It was idling rough and had an oil leak. They told me the engine had to get use to the computer. I drove it 3 weeks it stop in the middle of the freeway. I had it towed to the shop. Now its been there ever since that time. Every time I call to receive an update, Mike tells me he's going make sure its done right this time To me it should have been done right the first time. This is the worst experience I ever had. I can't go to church on Sundays, nor can I work overtime on my job, nor take my family out to spend time with them doing family activities. Once you put a down payment on you vehicle. They got you. Be very careful of this company. Don.t do it.

This company did an excellent job on rebuilding the small block Chevy 350 motor on my C3 Corvette. The job was beyond expectations!

Saw some really good reviews from people, and some weird guy with an axe to grind.

Brought my firebird here for a weird sound it was making and they fixed it up.

I like that they have a warranty and work contract. Makes me feel like they are more honest.

Just had to bring my truck in for some warranty work. Robert got me fixed up and back on the road. Great job!

To whom it may concern at the BBB, what I want is for Gulftech engines to pay for the PCM that they damaged on my vehicle . I also would like for Gulftech to honor their warranty with out the hastle that I have gone thru with them so far. I really do not trust in Gulftech getting my vehicle fixed. But I have put to much moneies into Gulftech fixing my vehicle, and feel I have no othere choice, but to let them try to fix my vehicle. Therefor I need Gulftech to fix my motor which I paid them $4000+ to rebuilt. From the expericese I have had with Robert at Gulftech engines, I feelt that he will try to make me pay more on getting my motor fixed. I do not need this hastle with him either, I do not feel i should pay Gulftech any more money that I already have. I have paid him to rebuilt my motor, which I wish would have been done right the first time.I need something done asap.

excellent service. my original chevy truck engine died after 160,000 miles.gulftech replaced it with a new one. the price was fair,and my truck runs like it did when it was new.

I CALLED AROUND THE HOUSTON AREA FOR A MOTOR MY MOM OVERHEATED THE ENGINE AND LEFT ALL THE FAMILY STRANDED. YOU SEE WE HAVE ONLY ONE VEHICLE TO MOVE AROUND IN. WHEN I CALLED AROUND OTHER COMPANIES WERE TELLING ME IT WOULD TAKE OVER A WEEK TO GET A MOTOR REBUILD, PUT IN AND BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN. WHEN I CALLED GULFTECH ENGINES I EXPLAINED TO THEM MY SITUATION THEY SAID THEY WOULD TRY TO HELP ME AND PUT A RUSH TO OUR CAR SO I CHOSE THEM. THEY DID AND WE WERE BACK ON THE ROAD IN NO TIME. YES THEY TOLD ME UP FRONT THEY'D CALL ME AFTER THEY DISASSEMBLED MY ENGINE HOWEVER I DID NOT HAVE ANY IDEA HOW AN ENGINE FUNCTIONED THEY LET ME SEE FOR MYSELF AND THEY EXPLAINED CLEARLY HOW IT OPERATES AND WHERE THE MALFUNCTIONS OCCURED SO I COULD MAKE THE DECISION OF WHAT PARTS I WANTED TO HAVE INSTALLED ON MY CAR. THEY DID NOT HIDE ANYTHING FROM ME EVERYTHING WAS TOLD TO ME UP FRONT AND IT'S IN BLACK AND WHITE PLUS I GOT IT IN WRITING TOO. IF I DID NOT WANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT WAS MY PROBLEM I DON'T BLAME NO ONE BUT MYSELF. i called gulf tech engines for a engine quote for a 01 chevy p/u with a 6.0 engine installed.the sales person told me the base price for the installation and that price came with a 3 yr or 36,000 mile limited warranty and free towing with installation.the sales person then told someting i thought i would never hear.i can come in and check out thier machine shop & installation center,that made me feel better about who i am dealing with,in the end gulf tech engines did a great job to my truck, iwill recommend them to all my family & all my fishing buddys,my thanks goes out to the salesman who was very friedly and helpfull,he showed me what went worng with my engine and showed what i can do to take care of my engine,That means alot to me .thanks agian gulf tech....

I had a major misunderstanding with my payment arrangements. I talk to a mechanic by the name of David and he was very understanding, he work out an affordable payment arrangement that fit my budget. I would defiantly recommend this service to anyone in need of a new engine.
