I’m so happy with the way Bassy altered my heavy suede chaps with fringe! I dropped them off, and just picked them up yesterday and when i tried them on they were perfect. I will definitely be returning to Bassys for all my alterations! 110% friendly service with a smile. Bassy is so easy to work with and will work to meet your deadline for your items! Not many places work with leather. Totally left with a smile! You won’t be disappointed!

My experience with Bassy was absolutely amazing. I walked in her shop with my wedding dress which had been botched by another seamstress. It was in the middle of a snowstorm and I had 24 hours until I had to leave for my wedding that weekend. She had me try my dress on and instantly she knew the job ahead was going to be long and involved, but without hesitation she took it on. She had to completely take apart all of the stitching that was previously done, she refitted me and then started from scratch. Not to mention, my dress was entirely lace with beading on top. She took in the waist, fixed the zipper, bra cups, straps, bustle, and buttons on the back. She did all of this in that one day in her shop in a snowstorm and worked late into the night for me. The next morning, the dress was ready to be picked up on my way to the wedding venue. I put it on and it was absolutely perfect. It was comfortable, and so flattering. The bustle was simple and beautiful. It was just flawless. Bassy was so reassuring and I would recommend her to absolutely anyone for anything. She even texted me after the wedding asking how it went! She saved the day!!! I highly recommend Bassy to EVERYBODY!

I first showed Bassy my mom's wedding dress from the 70s that I wanted completely redone for my wedding, along with a pic of another dress I wanted it modeled after. Bassy was wonderful in answering questions/never made me feel pressured into using her services. She explained all the steps she'd need to take, along with a very accurate estimate of cost. She also showed me examples of similar work she'd done. She removed the sleeves, lowered the neckline, changed the shape to fit me, and added a bustle. Bassy did a superb job- it's exactly what I asked for! She made wonderful suggestions and has a great eye for what looks good. She also ended up making my veil, which included beading along the edging and looks so beautiful! I strongly recommend listening to her suggestions-she knows her stuff and really cares about making her clients happy/looking their best! She's easy to work with, thorough, professional, reasonable with pricing, and get things done quickly. Thank you so much, Bassy!

Always a 5 star experience when you have Bassy alter or make something for you. We have been going to Bassy's beautiful office and showroom for several years now and each time she does something for us it comes out perfect. We've had her make pajamas for my son, alter a complicated prom dress, rework vintage clothes and just today hem a pair of pants. What ever it is Bassy knows exactly what to do and you would never know it's been altered. Her prices are very reasonable especially for the caliber of work and it's always ready when she says it will be. It is very rare to find someone of Bassy's professionalism and talent in this day and age. We feel very lucky to have found her and that she's so close but if you live farther away she is absolutely worth the trip.

Bassy did beautiful work altering my wedding dress. I knew it would be a complicated project to shorten the dress 6" since the hem had a lot of complex lace with no easy way to reattach it. Bassy immediately came up with a creative solution for a very reasonable price. The dress fits perfectly, and you wouldn't guess it has been altered. Bassy herself has a very soothing and professional demeanor. She offers her sincere and knowledgeable opinions but never tries to pressure you into anything.

Bassy is a fantastic woman to work with, not only because she is talented, but she's so kind as well. I needed to have a costume fixed after a disasterous online ordering mishap which resulted in a pair of pants that were completely the wrong color, and a pleather jacket that looked as if it had 70's shoulder pads and baggy sleeves. Bassy made me a new pair of pants from scratch, and fixed that horrendous jacket for me, both turned out great. I look forward to wearing my costume at a large convention, the costume is something I can feel confident in now thanks to her work. Take note, Bassy is not only fantastic for her dress work, but she is multi-talented as well with all forms of clothing! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone, and would definitely call her up first myself if I ever need any work done again.

I have had a wonderful experience working with Bassy!

In the past few months I have brought two dresses to Bassy for alterations. Both dresses were long and had multiple layers that needed to be hemmed. In addition both dresses also had intricate beading at the top that Bassy worked around to save the beauty of the dress while still making sure it fit perfectly!

Bassy is an absolute sweetheart and the best at what she does! I would recommend her highly to anyone and will continue to use her in the years to come!

Fellow BRIDES….GO TO BASSY! I just came back from my second fitting and i am absolutely amazed at the work she did in such a short period of time. My gown is all lace with intricate beading and although gorgeous it needed a lot of work to the shoulders/bust and overall length. When I put it on today it was absolute perfection. Bassy is pleasant and at the utmost a perfectionist when it comes to her craft and it shows through her work. When i bought my dress the store told me to go somewhere else (which had horrible reviews) and I am glad I didn't go there. Don't trust your wedding gown with ANYONE ELSE BUT BASSY!!

Three months prior to my wedding I brought my out of the ordinary style Gown to Bess . Having met with three other seamstresses and Taylor's prior, all three said how difficult it would be to work with the multicolored Gown and fabric. All three quoted exorbitant prices and stated it would take more than four months for them to alter my gown. The first time I met with Bess, she suggested certain alterations that would enhance evening down for a bridal style alteration. Bess gave specific pricing on each task she had to do to alter my wedding Gown & stuck to her word on the pricing...She even made an extra sequined bustle clip at no additional charge to me.



Bess is THE utmost friendliest, courteous & consumate professional seamstress/tailer I had the priveledge of meeting & working with. She created a train on the gown utilizing a method unseen to the eye with a natural flair as if the gown were to have one naturally. It took several bust alterations due to weight changes with my weight loss in 2 fittings & she altered The multicolored rauching bust in such a manner it looked as though it came from the manufacturer. While having to change the thread multiple times on this gallon help nationalism in her craft is clearly visible. I would highly recommend anyone travel the distance to Seabass and meet with her, not only for her economical pricing, but for her sense of style and professionalism within her craft. She is a multi talented and friendly person to work with!

Bought 2 suits at a big discount, but I needed them fitted to my size they were too big. Found Bassy and she tailored them to my size, they fit great, would definitely go back to Bassy's Tailoring! She's the best!

I cannot begin tell you how amazing Bassy is. I rented a dress for my Miss Rhode Island pageant this weekend. Renting is for either 4 or 8 days, no more, no less. I received my dress 5 days before my event only to learn that it was far too long! I called the rental company and they said they were out of all petite sizes in all dresses for this weekend. I was in tears, fearing that I wouldn't be able to find a replacement in time. I was nervous to take my dress for an alteration since it's a rental, but I had a feeling Bassy would be able to come up with a quick, effective and durable fix for me. I took it to her on a Tuesday and she was confident and happy to fix the dress and knew exactly how to fix it without making the hem permanent given it's a rental. She did this for me on such short notice and she has to hand sew which is time-consuming. She did this for me in 2 days! She is reliable, kind, reasonably priced, and amazing at what she does. Without reservation I recommend Bassy's--I drive up from RI she's that good!

Bassy need's more then 5 stars. Bassy saved my wedding dress. The place where I originally purchased my dress did my alterations, the seamstress there had no idea what she was doing. I found Bassy through a neighbor's recommendation and I am so glad I went there. I first took my chiffon pleated maxi dress to Bassy for a hemming, when I was there I was telling her about the issue I was having with my wedding gown. Bassy told me to bring it in and she would give me her honest opinion. My mom and I brought it in and come to find out the hooks that were placed for bustling were all wrong, and exposed, my bodice was 2inches too big and there were threads in my dress that shouldn't be shown or even be there in the first place. Bassy calmed me down and was so professional she told me what had to be done to fix it but didn't pressure me to fix it. We of course had her fix it and when I picked it up just two days before my wedding all my stress was gone, it was like a brand new dress. My wedding gown was perfect, everyone raved about it, and I raved about Bassy and how she saved my gown. If you want someone who knows what they are doing and is highly professional go to Bassy I can't recommend her enough!

I purchased a dress on line and when it arrived it was too small. After reordering and getting the dress again, the fit was cut very strange. I brought it to Bassy's and she said she could fix it. She opened the back and worked her magic. She also fixed the bottom to make it fall just right. It came out perfect! Bassy does excellent work. If you need something "professionally" done, this is where you want to take it. Thank you Bassy - great job!

Bassy is not just a tailor but an expert couture dressmaker. I have yet to find anyone in the state as talented and skillful as Bassy. I had a biz black tie event in Monte Carlo and was stressed about the dress - the stores had the same old thing and all made from polyester, even designer gowns! I brought a photo of my ideal dress and the silk chiffon fabric for it - Bassy created it from just this photo and my measurements and it fit beautifully and is the most gorgeous gown I have ever had. She also made a vintage Halston pattern silk jersey wrap dress for my trip - no one can buy or sew silk jersey as it is so difficult - again, most beautiful dress I own. Cannot tell you how many compliments I received - even from very stylish French women! High quality sewing construction is a dying skill, very few people worldwide can do this anymore. Bassy can. It makes all the difference in the world. Can't imagine going anywhere else anymore. She is the best!

Bassy is a great tailor! She tailored 2 indian outfits and they came out great! She is great to work with and works so efficiently! She is awesome. i highly recommend!
