UW Health dermatologists in Madison, Wisconsin, are committed to providing the highest quality of care for our patients by diagnosing and treating diseases of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes. We provide a comprehensive range of services in a tertiary care, academic-based integrated health care system. Many basic dermatologic conditions are treated by the patient's primary care team. Care of more complex skin diseases is provided in consultation or by referral to our board certified dermatologists. Care is also provided by specialty trained mid-level providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants) supervised by the dermatology physicians. Once the patient has been diagnosed, treated, and stabilized, our dermatology team works with the patient's primary care team by recommending or providing further follow-up care.
