        Albert Thomas Merhaut, founder of A.T. Merhaut, Inc. was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1927. After 1.5 years in the Monastery, in 1959, Mr. Merhaut began his career in church supplies as a salesman for Templegate in downtown Pittsburgh. Ten years later, Mr. Merhaut bought Templegate and renamed it A.T.Merhaut Church Books & Supplies. Since then, the company has continued to grow and in 2007 it came to its current on Route 8 in Allison Park, PA. Through the years, Mr. Merhaut raised 9 children with his wife Joann. Today they are both enjoying retirement and other ministry opportunities at their parish. Following in their father's footsteps, 5 of their children: Tom, John, Matt, Theresa, and Gemma can all be seen fulfilling the work their father started nearly 50 years ago. Several of Mr. Merhaut's grandchildren also work part time in the store throughout the year.

        A.T.Merhaut is a wonderful store!! You can get any religious item you can imagine. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If they do not have something you are looking for, they will go out of their way to try and find it and order it for you. I have always had a positive experience while shopping there!!
