Spoke with a woman about a rental. She did not seem interested in showing me an apartment that doesn't fit in her schedule. I run a business and cannot leave work to meet her needs. Explained that I have an animal that will be moving to live with other family and the lady was extremely crude. I wouldn't suggest doing business with anyone of this caliber.

Do not consider renting with Fox Chapel Reality. As a former tenant of the Richlowe apartments, I was appalled by the way the landlords treated the tenants and how unreliable they were in terms of addressing issues or concerns. Mr. Harold Sankey - who owns the property - is the most ignorant man I have ever come in contact with. While i was a very good and reliable tenant during my time in Richlowe, my moving out experience was not pleasant - to say the least. While I mailed a letter stating that I would be out of my apartment by the end of February (the end of my lease term), I was immediately rushed out as of February 20th because another tenant had already placed a deposit on my apartment prior to me being moved out. Because Harold was more concerned about not missing out on any money with a vacancy of any sort - I was forced to clean the apartment and have it move in ready within 2 days (which it was). When it came time for me to do my walk through inspection, I contacted Harold directly to explain that I would be available to do so at anytime during that week. After 3 times of explaining that to Harold, I received the same answer - "ok, just leave the door open with the keys in the kitchen counter and someone will stop in to take a look". As one could imagine, that did not sit very well with me and I questioned the company doing so, as they could have charged me for just about anything - even if the apartment had imperfections in it from the previous tenant. Harold was very rude when I explained that I would be available, stating that "I can wait around all I want. They will come when they come". When I left the apartment, it could not have been more clean if I tried. The carpets were professionally steam cleaned, floors were cleaned and waxed, all living areas were spotless, and I did replace 2 blinds, as the ones placed in the windows when I moved in were very old and brittle. After receiving my security deposit, I lost $150 due to the apartment requiring cleaning and blind replacement. Little did they know that a friend of mine was moving into my apartment and I saw their doings after she moved in. Nothing was changed from how I left it - except for the blinds. No additional cleaning was needed - but they felt the need to take down the brand new

Blinds that were put into place in the living room, kitchen and bedroom - and placed dirty old blinds in the bedroom in place of the others. I was charged for this - why not the other blinds then? Going onward with the interior of the building... There is

Mold entering the basement where the laundry room is and a leak has been present in the storage area for

Months that has not been repaired. Cob webs coat the crown molding of the foyer and both entry lights in the hallway have been burnt out and filled with bugs since I moved in last year. This apartment building could be a wonderful place if it were not for the slumlords who run it.

Do Not Rent from them!!! They ...

Do Not Rent from them!!! They are unprofessional and treat their tenants with zero respect.

I will say that I absolutely loved my apartment. It was a great location, and a very nice place for what I was paying in rent. My only problem in the three years I lived there was that I had raccoons running between the ceiling and floor boards costing me several nights of sleep. My ceiling lighting would quit working, leading me to believe that these animals were chewing through the wires which could potentially lead to an electrical fire. I immediately called John S., the landlord, and voiced these concerns, but nothing was done. I called him at least 3 times a year and put it in writing as well. Still they did not take any action.

This past July my lease was up and I moved out of my apartment. My mother came to my place to help me pack and clean. She scrubbed and steamed all the floors, vacuumed, disinfected and cleaned out the kitchen cupboards, refrigerator, sink, and stove. She spent hours cleaning the oven, poured Drano down all the drains, scrubbed and bleached the entire bathroom, cleaned all the windows inside and out and the tracks…. Bottom line, the place was spotless!

Four weeks later I received a letter from John stating “You did not clean anything. You owe $446.90.” for a cleaning bill. So, naturally I called my mother and she called John to dispute the cleaning bill. She was calm and curious in her justification. He hung up on her twice.

They are rude and do not care about there tenants.

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE

Do not rent from these people. Unless you have a lot of patience and are willing to do whatever it takes for them. First it started off when they wrote up my lease incorrectly and said I only had to pay fees every other month, instead of every month. And my first notice said that I must pay the charges (which at that time I didn't I had to pay) or I would be evicted. I showed them the lease and why I wan't paying it and John Sankey told me that I should have known those get paid once enough and I should be smarter.

Later came problems with a window leaking. After I initially contacted them it took them almost 3 weeks (luckily for me it was in November/December). However after the wood around the window dried up from all the rain water you could feel a draft through the wood. Additionally my carpet was stained and I couldn't have anything up against that wall because for over a month I was told that it was going to get fixed. When I tried to get out of the lease they said that I wasn't allowed because I didn't raise any complaints. During this time I was waiting for the damage to get fixed John told me "I don't care about you or how you are living". Um isn't he my real estate agent.

I left the apartment in the beginning of May and told them that I would be out at the end of May. When I left the damage to the window had still not been fixed. The last time I was in the apartment was in the middle of June when I dropped off my keys. When I looked at the window all they did was paint over the wood. I'm certain come this winter you'll be able to feel a draft yet again. When I left I was told that I would receive my security deposit by the middle of July its now the end of July and I haven't received it and when I call them they tell me that they'll send out a statement however they won't tell me how much I'm getting back.

Whatever you do, DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. There are other units around the area that are the same price and these people don't care about you at all. All they care about is the money.

This problem about not knowing you had to pay monthly is silly. It was in the lease as plain as day. The additional charge was for garbage and had to be paid in addition to the monthly rent. As for the water leak, the property owners were at fault for not repairing their own rental unit when the damage happened. I believe that you were told you could get out of your lease if you were not happy with the situation, as the owenrs did not repair the situation immediately. I think it is unfair for you to blame my company for other people's actions or lack of action. Sorry you had a bad experience. Good luck. Harold Sankey
