I prefer doing business with local companies, so I have used Century Cab regularly for 10 years. Yes, some of the dispatchers can be pains. Most of the drivers I have dealt with have made up for it. That is, until tonight.



I was told a cab would be "right there". Over half an hour later, I called back to check on it (there have been times where a dispatcher has actually forgotten to send a cab). I was told another 10 minutes. 40 minutes later, and hour and 15 minutes after I had initially called, I called again. The dispatcher seemed surprised that I had not been picked up yet. Then he started making excuses and even implied that I shouldn't complain because some people had been waiting even longer. At no time did he even attempt to apologize.



The driver was even worse. As soon as I told her of my dissatisfaction she became defensive and argumentative. When I pointed out that was NOT the way to handle a customer complaint, she resorted to saying I started it. Really? I then had to deal with a litany of her bragging about how great a driver she was with 22 years experience, etc. As with the dispatcher, she made no attempt to apologize until I told her that was the first thing she should have done, acknowledge my complaint, empathize and apologize, something anyone in customer service learns the first day of training.



When I told her I would complain publicly, she laughed! When I said that she, and the dispatcher, were jointly responsible for costing Century Cab a long time customer, she didn't care.



It's bad enough the company spreads itself so thin that such delays happen on a regular basis. To have people try to make it out that customers are wrong for complaining is the worst.

Horrible!!!!

I beg to differ with anyone who's written a positive review about this company. I pretty much believe the favorable reviews are from employees. The dispatcher acted as if she were doing us a favor by simply answering the phone. And the price quoted was by far way too expensive for a 15 minute drive. We saved time and money by telling these idiots where they could stick their jalopy.
