Service

I would say service was bad but in order to say that I would have to had a server and have been provided the bare minimum of service. Not sure if there was an issue in communication but it seems like our table wasn't assigned. Had to flag someone down to get attention and ask about a server, the server who came didn't seem thrilled in the least bit. During all of this two other tables were sat and brought waters promptly and had drink orders taken. Still no waters at our table (at least 7 mins). I had people visiting from out of state and suggested we go there cause I had mentioned the blackened salmon and the chill atmosphere. Waters were eventually brought (after having to ask) but by then I was upset about the service and the demeanor of the server. Never an apology from anyone from start to finish. She sat them down to which I said thank you but, she didn't respond, granted her back was turned away as soon as the last water glass made contact with the table. After a while she came back and I told her we were thinking of going somewhere and instead of trying to turn the situation around by asking what she could do she simply stated "that's fine" and started to walk away. Before she ran off I asked if there was a manager to speak with. She scurried off to the bar so I decided to follow her. As I approach she is explaining the situation to the manager/bartender to where she (server) turns around and is pointing at me while I'm about two feet in front of her. She pointed at me twice to where I had to tell her not to point at me and she was being completely rude. I don't like people talking about me like I'm not present. By this time I'm livid and could barely talk. I'm not sure why my experience was so bad? I asked if they were short handed? I tried to explain to the bartender/manager but I was getting choked up. After leaving I called the fish tail brewery instead and asked about a table/vented about the terrible experience. The person who answered was very pleasant and reserved a table for us. When I arrived I embellished on the experience and she also mentioned how she had a similar instance at tugboat annies and how the staff ignored her and her friend. She also mentioned that they weren't busy so there wasn't really an excuse to receive such bad service. I'm not one to go and rant with online reviews but I was so upset i lost my appetite. I've worked at a restaurant before downtown for a few years and serving is tough. Working downtown is a lot harder than somewhere on the marina with support staff. At times you are "in the weeds" with ten tables deep who came in all at once all the while you are juggling being a server/host/runner/busser/answering phones/hand written tickets/security/side work/to-go orders. It's customer service and sometimes you don't feel like doing it but it's your job. At the very least I always brought waters in a timely fashion and tried to humor the situation whether it be good or bad. Sometimes there's no pleasing people but you gotta at least try. Bad service... very, very bad service.

We were sick of the same ol' eateries on the bay downtown, I missed this place because it had closed down in the past, it is hidden across the bay, we buzzed out there and joyfully found it open. It is a cozy pub with cheep boat morage, I say this because the boats look like something affordable, unlike the hotshot boats out side Budbay. I felt at home, happy, the view was wonderfull. It is a younger sports bar hangout i wolud guess, We are in our early 60's and did not feel out of place. The services was very good and friendly. The food is good,we had fish and chips, they were great, take it for what it is : A friendly hamberger, fish and chip spot off the beaton path with down home folks, I LOVE IT!
