Very poorly managed. They have "O" customer service. They cancelled the Silver Sneakers program with NO notification to the seniors who come twice a week for a class geared especially to them. Showed up for class and the entire program was cancelled effectively immediately. There were no signes posted and the automatic sign-in device recorded my visit, lwhich means they got paid for my visit but there was no class. If I could give them less than a one-star rating, I would..

Ran down old place, old machines, poor service. Not much stuff around to help out customers, if you call this place they won't know much unless it is a manager or you are calling for a payment.

When I joined, what convinced me was the pool. I was not told that use of the pool was so restricted to very specific and limited times because there is a swim school that leases the pool so gym members can't use it most of the day on Monday- Saturday. Even on "allowed" times to use the pool, it has happened to me that the instructor schedules private adult lessons, so in half a year as member, I've only been able to use the pool three times out of about 30 attempts to use it. Another feel uncomfortable about is having young children around, which happens here. They're in the locker room and around the workout areas. They're supposed to be with their parents, but like many parents, some just let them wander around hoping others will baby sit them. They are a safety hazard for themselves and for others. This place, rather than a gym like L.A. Fitness and others is more of a community center. They conduct operations as such, except that they bill you like a gym. If you can afford it, go to L.A. Fitness or another true gym. This one is not it.

This is by far THE WORST customer service that I have ever encountered. It is bordering on CRIMINAL behavior. Before the change in ownership, I went in to cancel my membership within the 30 days of my next monthly charge per my contract. When I asked for a copy, the employee told me that their copier was down and that she would mail me a copy. A week and a half later when I didn't get a copy I called and asked who I can speak to, the employee said he didn't know but that I could leave a message for the billing person. Fast forward three weeks and they billed my credit card. I called again but the billing person was on vacation but I could talk to the GM....another message left. No reply. Fast forward 2 months...8 phone calls...3 trips to the gym in person....same response. "The person who can help you isn't here." "I don't know their schedule so I don't know when they will be in."
Still no response. So, I got my bank, thank you CHASE, to put a stop payment on their auto withdraw and change my cc. But THEIR OFF SITE BILLING DEPARTMENT CALLS AND THREATENS ME. Athletic Club....you are a sad excuse for a gym. You need to go back to being a car dealership with a Bob's Big Boy attached and stop harassing people who are trying to do the right thing. SHAME ON YOU!

Recently I had to file a claim against the gym for multiple billing errors on my account. Boom! Boom! Money removed from bank account after canceling. Boom! The gym never resolved it, and I was force to inform my bank of their fraudulent activities. I was only a member for 7 months and it was the worst experience ever. Beware of this place!!! I have been trying to cancel my membership since 3/30/16 and they just keep billing in spite of filling out more cancellation forms. DO NOT think of going here unless you want to be robbed blind. I understand why so many people were always angry when dealing with Dina. She lies over and over all the while smiling to your face. BAD BUSINESS! I am now filing with the BBB. The manager is real nice to you until she figures out you are not going to sign a longer contract. Then if you refuse to sign a new contract she starts talking shiet about you behind your back. I actually heard this woman tell another customer that they “should just die”. Sad!

Great Value for a Reasonable Price

I have belonged to several gyms in the Santa Clarita area, but found that while they were good gyms, they were too expensive. Santa Clarita Athletic Club is a full service gym, with loads of equipment, basketball courts, raquetball courts, indoor swimming pool, and loads of classes - for a very reasonable monthly fee. The gym has everything I need and it's much more reasonable than it's competitors.
