After School Program

I enrolled my child at this location in the PKC this past summer. I was not happy with my decision.

My child complained almost everyday i picked her up from summer camp.

The cafeteria was dirty and smelly and very cold.

The director at this site was very aloof and cold.

The counselors were just ok. My child was upset alot because the counselors would pick and choose who got to do

an activity that day. They picked 3 groups, and somehow always over looked my child and i always heard about it

when my child was upset at pick up. Finally one day the counselor had the nerve to blame my child for being a bad

sport, And i had to tell her that i didn't approve of "groups being picked" i stated that i pay for my child to attend and do activities and thats what i expect her to be able to do. I also was made aware that counselors made children put there heads down on the table. Its summer camp for petes sake, not prison.

At this site there were alot of older children and they exposed my child to the F word plus alot of cursing. when letting counselors know they didn't seemed to concerned. My child is 5 and was told about pregnancy from a group of 10 yr old girls. Not very appropriate behavior in my opinion.

I switched my child to the pelican marsh location and that was a little better. The counselors there seemed to care

more about the children and the quality of the day that they have. Also there were more kids my childs age at this

location.

In the end i wouldn't consider PKC again unless i desperately needed it. I have already started looking around

for other options for the summer coming up 09' as i do not want her going back to this camp and if that means

paying more money than so be it.
