Jim has MS, and although he hated to give up the "independence" of living in his own apartment, he knew that he just wasn't able to function on his own any longer. As his principal care giver, I am very much relieved that he now has the care he needs to function, and that the staff by and large respects his autonomy and treats him with care and respect. I feel that he is doing better in this environment than when he was in his own apartment. The residents seem to be members of a community rather than inmates at an institution.

Clean and we'll run. Obviously my mother would rather be at home but she is much safer here and has even made a few good friends. Denise and Suzette have been great.

My mom stayed in this facility for exactly one week before I brought her back home. I was promised that they would help her adjust the first month; escort her to mails; show her around; and let her know about all the activities there. For one week, the only meals I'm sure my mother got were lunch because I kept her private caregiver for a couple of weeks to help her adapt and three breakfasts when I was there.
I came in one day to see my mom. I was on crutches carrying three heavy bags. I passed five employees and not one offered to help me. The only person that offered was an older gentleman who used a wheelchair.
I told my mom's caregiver on Monday to bring her home at one in the afternoon. I called Sedonia (manager) the next day at noonish and asked how my mom was doing. Apparently they got her to dinner the night before, breakfast that morning and were probably going to get her to escort her to lunch. I don't know how that was possible since she had returned home the day before.
I was lied to about the care they would offer my mom. Actually deciding to mover her there ranks on the top 10 worst decisions of my life.

My uncle moved in there about 6 months ago. The staff was very helpful in transitioning him into the facility. The facility has just been renovated and it looks great. The food is really good and they allow custom orders.
