Only dentist I will go too! Never had one complaint about anything or anyone from here. Dr Suzuki does excellent work and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. I recommend him to everyone!

Dental Sealants
A: A sealant is a plastic material that is usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars). This plastic resin bonds into the depressions and grooves (pits and fissures) of the teeth’s chewing surfaces. The sealant acts as a barrier, protecting enamel from plaque and acids and guarding against disease-causing bacteria. Thorough brushing and flossing help remove food particles and plaque from smooth surfaces of teeth. However, toothbrush bristles cannot reach all the way into the depressions and grooves to efficiently extract food and plaque. Sealants protect these vulnerable areas by “sealing out” plaque and food.

Fillings
If you need to fill a cavity, or if you want to replace dark, amalgam fillings, tooth-colored fillings are your solution. When the decay has been removed from the tooth, it is replaced with “filling” material. With new advancements in dentistry, you can now have tooth-colored fillings instead of silver fillings, resulting in a long-lasting, brighter, whiter smile. The new tooth-colored material is bonded to the teeth for a stronger restoration.
Resin Composite
Are you embarrassed about your smile because of decayed, disfigured, or discolored teeth? If so, you may be a good candidate for composite resins. Composite resins, also known as tooth-colored fillings, offer a non-invasive way to improve your smile. A composite resin is a mixture of microscopic ceramic and glass particles dispersed in a plastic resin that can be bonded to teeth. The material comes in a wide range of shades and can be molded and sculpted to create almost any shape or contour. The fact that the resin is bonded means that a seal is formed to reduce the chance of leakage, which is common with silver fillings. For years, silver-mercury was the primary material used by dentists to fill cavities. Today, tooth-colored restorations are superior, both in appearance and in durability.
Veneers
Imagine a whiter, more brilliant smile! Placement of porcelain veneers is a conservative cosmetic treatment that makes a dramatic difference in the appearance of your teeth. Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain, custom made for your teeth and bonded to the front of each tooth. They are a wonderful solution to many smile problems. Crowns
A: If your doctor has recommended a crown to you, it is likely either to correct a broken tooth or to repair a tooth that has deteriorated due to cavities (decay). The decay in your tooth eats away at healthy tooth structure...much like rust eats away at metal. If not removed, decay will deteriorate the tooth to the point where extraction is the only viable treatment option. Sometimes, decay is removed, leaving healthy tooth structure but not much of it. A crown can then be placed, restoring the look and function of your tooth, while allowing you to keep your natural, underlying tooth structure. Most crowns are precision-milled porcelain or full metal (gold or silver) and are individually customized for each application in each patient, giving you a natural, long-lasting smile.
Bridges
If you’ve lost a tooth, a large gap in your smile, left uncorrected, can create significant problems for your dental health. Gradually, your bite pressure may shift to other parts of your mouth in order to compensate for an inability to efficiently chew in the area of the missing tooth. Also, neighboring teeth may begin to move into the gap, resulting in discomfort, pain, and more future problems. To correct this, your dentist creates a functional, life-like bridge to correct your smile, to restore your bite, and to alleviate your discomfort. After some preparation of the two neighboring teeth, crowns are created for them. A prosthetic tooth (or pontic) is fused between the crowns. Fixed bridges literally “bridge the gap” in your smile.

Root Canal Treatment
Damage to the nerve tissue inside of a tooth sometimes requires a root canal procedure. Despite the tales you may have heard regarding the procedure, most root canals are minimally uncomfortable ― especially compared to the pain and discomfort you may be feeling before the procedure. Dr. Suzuki takes advantage of advances in technology and in dental techniques that make root canal procedures more effective, while also taking less time.

Dentures
A: Millions of people struggle with halitosis (or bad breath) despite daily teeth brushing. This can be caused by poor hygiene, gum disease or problems with the digestive system. Here is a checklist of procedures that can help the problem: twice daily brushing, daily flossing, and tongue cleaning; regular professional cleanings; and, careful cleaning of any dentures or removable dental appliances. However, if your hygiene is meticulous and the problem persists, we can offer several additional solutions. First, we can provide a plastic tool called a tongue scraper that cleans away bacterial build-up on your tongue, significantly alleviating odor. Or, we can recommend a specially-prepared rinse or toothpaste designed to actually breakdown the odor-causing sulfur bonds that cause bad breath. Finally, if we suspect a systemic or internal problem, such as an infection or an underlying condition, we may recommend that you visit your family physician or a specialist to identify the cause. It is important to identify the root cause to completely eliminate the problem.

While typical dentures shift and require the use of denture adhesives to keep them in place, implants fit solidly, reducing the problems associated with traditional dentures, such as gum sores and difficulty speaking and chewing. Implant-supported dentures distribute your biting pressure more like natural teeth than traditional dentures, stimulating the supportive structures of your teeth and preventing the bone and soft tissues from shrinking away. You can replace an entire set of teeth with beautiful, natural-looking implants.

The teeth, jaw, and other oral structures can be injured through accidental collision with either the ball or with another player; or, your child may clench, chip, or crack their teeth on their own during play. A mouthguard prevents such injury. Mouthguards are not just for children with braces or other orthodontics. Dr. Suzuki can customize a mouthguard for you or your child. These are more protective than a generic “boil and bite” mouthguard and will ensure a proper fit.
