My daughter has been going to CCA since she was 15wks old (she is now 4yrs old) and loves it. She just started the PreK-4 class and is almost reading! I have second daughter who is 5 months old who started there 2 months ago and she is always happy to be there when I drop her off. I love the teachers and they love my kids. The director Kathy knows the laws of TN very well and makes sure CCA follows all of them, often above a beyond what is required by law to ensure the safety and happiness of the children. I'm not sure who the reviewers from previous years came in to contact with, but since 2013 we've been nothing but happy there!

I'm sorry but I have no idea how anyone could call this facility "clean". It is outdated and dingy. Security measures are lacking. No protective footwear was used in the infant room. The staff at the front were completely unconcerned about obtaining my business. If they were this unconcerned about the impression made on prospective parents, I'd hate to see how they acted once your child was enrolled there. I could not get a straight answer from anyone.

In three parts to get full story:

We brought our 3.5 month old sold to CCA because we heard such great word of mouth reviews. Our son has a breathing condition called Stridor which we alerted the daycare to before his first day both written and orally. We did not receive any handbook or information as to what our son needed on his first day so I had to call the director and request that information. Prior to our son’s first day we received paper work to fill out about our son, which included medical conditions and other information. He must be fed in a very specific way per his breathing condition which we indicated previously in writing and then orally to our son’s teacher on his first day. On our son’s first day they let us know that he would be the only baby in the infant room all week. When I picked my son up the first day I could immediately tell he had not been fed correctly by his irregular breathing pattern and louder than usual breathing and I asked the teacher how he was fed. She said she followed what she had been told. The next day I brought my son back and fed him in front of his teacher to show her again exactly how to feed him and she told me, “I’ll be honest with you; I did not feed him that way at all.” Later that night my son’s breathing worsened and I took him to his pediatrician in the morning. The pediatrician explained that he had fluid in his lungs and that he needed to be upright for napping and sleeping. I kept him home from daycare the rest of that day. Our son’s teacher called and said I needed to let the director know why we were not attending that day. When I spoke with the director I offered to bring pictures and written instructions showing exactly how to feed our child. The next day, my husband brought our son in to CCA along with the visual pictures and asked his teacher to please keep him upright for napping and feeding. The teacher said it was against their protocol but that she would do it anyway.

This is a beautiful and clean center but the director and the assistant teachers are awful. The lead teachers are good for the most part but I feel like they were under a very watchful eye of the director and weren't allowed to be completely honest with me about my child's development . I feel like they left out details in order to appear more marketable . They won't be completely honest with you about your child's care or development for fear that they may lose your business . The director is about 70 years old and has worked there forever and is not ok with change . The owner is very nice but she needs to understand that early childhood is an evolving field and it's time to get Kathy out of there .

Not good at all

My child was judged negatively by the teachers and staff because he was a late bloomer. The director thinks her opinion about your child is the correct one no matter if the teacher doesn't agree. She is very defensive if you have any concerns regarding the staff or your child. She needs to learn how to listen and talk to parents especially since we are paying $191 a week. The teachers do not give you evaluations on your child ever. I also feel like all the staff gossip about your child, and when you walk in there all glaring at you. If your child is having a bad day then they make sure to stand them out rather then comfor the child.
