In Oct 2017 my husband purchased a garnet ring from Aura as an anniversary gift to me. I was with him and we picked out the ring together. The owner of the store was barely civil but I ignored her b/c my husband was excited about finding the ring and supporting a local business. A few months later the center stone in the ring fell out. Luckily I found it! When I explained my situation, the owner said she does not do repairs and referred me to another store. I explained that it wasn't reasonable to sell a ring with loose stones and notwithstanding that she didn't do repairs, at a minimum she should take financial responsibility for the repair. I further explained that the settings should be checked before items are placed for sale and it is reasonable to expect that stones would not fall out in the first few months. She asked if I had a receipt. I did. When that tactic didn't work to deter me she invited me to leave her store. She emphasized she would not take any responsibility for the faulty setting or do anything to make it right. I told her that I thought she handled the situation poorly and I would be sure to review her on social media to warn others. She called me a horrible person and practically threw me out of the store. I took the ring to be repaired by a reputable jeweler (the one she referred me to) and they informed the garnets were channel-set and the stone should not have been glued. That is why it fell out to begin with. The interesting thing about this ring is that it belonged to the owner prior to be placed in store for sale. She shared that with us when she sold the ring.
My guess is that she is the one that glued the stone in the first place and I am sure she was not surprised to learn her shoddy repair job didn't work. Not only is she rude... the woman is a liar. Steer clear of this place and spend your money in another local business where they stand behind their products and take responsibility for their goods and services.
